How to Write a Lender Review That Actually Helps Other Borrowers
Most online reviews are either "great service!!" with no details, or angry one-liners. Neither helps the next borrower make a real decision.
Include the Basics
Start with the facts: what type of loan was it (personal, mortgage, auto)? What was the loan amount range? How long did the process take from application to funding?
Talk About the Process, Not Just the Outcome
Did they communicate clearly during underwriting? Were there surprise document requests? Did the closing happen on time?
Mention What Surprised You
Good or bad — what caught you off guard? A fee you didn't expect, faster funding than promised, or a rate that changed at closing? These are the details that help other borrowers.
Be Specific About Customer Service
"Good customer service" tells nobody anything. Instead: "My loan officer responded within an hour every time" or "I called three times and never got a callback."
You Don't Have to Be Negative to Be Helpful
Honest positive reviews are just as valuable as negative ones. If a lender delivered exactly what they promised and treated you fairly, say so.
